3. Steal Your Competitor’s Keyword
Spying and then stealing your competitor’s keyword is a sneaky way to move your site ahead of your competition. By spying on your competition, you can find the keywords they are currently ranking for. You can then create content to target these keywords, then outrank them. There’s zero creativity required.
You can use SEMrush to find your competitors keyword. It’s free to use. Just pop in a competitor’s website address. You will see something like this:

4. Create Awesome Infographics
Infographics are powerful for SEO. People love to share infographics. Data from Buzzsumo shows that infographics receive significantly more social shares than other content types. Infographics also generate more links than an average text-based post.
To make a powerful infographic, you need great content and great design. You need to pack a huge amount of content in a visually appealing way in your infographic.
When you are posting an infographic in your blog, add plenty of text on the post. Google doesn’t index the text on the infographic itself. If you add some text on the post, Google will understand what the infographic is all about.
5. Create A Free Tool
Creating a tool can be expensive. But it’s worth it. People love free tools. They also love linking to free tools. For example, take a look at this retirement calculator. It has links from 250+ domains.
You can also create mobile apps. Google is indexing apps now on Google search. When people are searching for keywords in your niche, they could find your app. Apps may also play a larger role in ranking in the future.
6. Improve URL Structure
There are a lot of things you can tweak to improve your SEO ranking. Improving your URL structure is one of them. Your site’s URL structure should be as simple as possible. It should be short and intelligible.

You are more likely to click the second link. It gives you a good guess of what to expect when you click it. It also doesn’t make it difficult for search engines to decipher the meaning of your content.
7. Give Lower Ranking Pages A Boost

Concentrate on becoming more visible across the Internet. One way you can do that is by getting involved in as many social media channel as possible. You undoubtedly have Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn. Get on Snapchat, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
If you have time & the resource, don’t skip on any platform just because you think they are unpopular. If you can utilize them properly, you will reach an audience you wouldn’t have been able to otherwise.
9. Speed Up Your Site
Page load time is a key aspect of SEO.
A time existed when you have to wait 4-5 minutes for a news site to fully load. But that’s totally unacceptable in today’s marketplace. Since 2010, Google has started taking website load times into consideration for SEO. It is one of their most important ranking factors. That means, the faster your site, the higher chances it has of ranking above another slower website.
Page speed is also vital for user conversion. Almost 50% visitors expect a web page to load in 2 seconds or less. Google can’t see what’s in an image. Instead, they read image metadata to understand what’s in the image. This is why you should always use the right keyword on your image name, caption, and alt-text.
When you are adding keywords, don’t go overboard. Don’t try to be too clever or creative. Make sure you are using only relevant keywords. If you have trouble adding keywords in alt-text, write them like it’s a caption.
